Summary

This position is accountable for the timely installation, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of complex plant equipment and facilities that are instrumental in the efficient functioning of automated production lines and a manufacturing facility operating on a 24 hour/day, 7 day/week operation.

The incumbent is assigned jobs by the supervisor or a superintendent and is expected to complete most jobs, including those of a complex nature, with little supervision.
All assignments must be carried out under stringent safety and sanitation standards. Quality requirements are constantly monitored, necessitating equipment fabrication and machine operations within specific tolerances and operational specifications to insure the delivery of food products on time and at the lowest cost by conforming exactly to the customer’s requirements. Participation of employees in the implementation of improved concepts is encouraged in all production processes.

Skills required include an intermediate level in proficiency in welding, plumbing, electrical repair, instrumentation, running lathes and milling machines, fabricating and repairing pneumatic and hydraulic systems. Additionally, the incumbent must own and maintain a basic set of hand tools.

Must be willing to work day, swing, and graveyard shift. Some weekend work is required.

Principle Accountabilities

  1. Troubleshoot and perform repairs to equipment that has failed in a manner that minimizes downtime.
  2. During process line downtime, perform corrective and preventative equipment maintenance per assigned schedule.
  3. Fabricate, manufacture or assemble items as indicated on blue prints, sketches or schematics of complex objects and circuitry as requested in work orders.
  4. Rebuild or remodel highly complex pieces of machinery such as gear boxes, motors, etc.
  5. Maintain an appropriate inventory of parts on hand to facilitate timely repair of equipment.
  6. Maintain an up-to-date understanding of the proper use of all repair equipment through an on-going training schedule.
  7. May be assigned to perform specialized job functions eg: auto/forklift mechanic, construction electrician, instrumentation, refrigeration, machinist, electronic specialist etc. Although assigned to a specialized job, the incumbent will be expected to assist in areas outside of that specialty as the need arises. Understand safety regulations and procedures on all assignments.

Must maintain the highest standards of ethics and integrity while embodying the tenets of “What We Stand For” and “The Basic Principles.”

Must maintain the highest standards of data management by creating consistent, reliable data which will ensure accuracy and in turn, maximize the use of data and confidence in decision making.

Proactively manage safety by ensuring compliance with all Federal and State regulations and internal Company policies. Regularly complete behavior based safety observations. Ensure unsafe conditions are corrected in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:
This position requires the incumbent to have advanced skills as an industrial mechanic or industrial electrician. A two-year certificate from a college or technical school is preferred.

Language Skills:

Ability to read and comprehend simple to complex instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to write various types of documents including, but not limited to, instructions, training outlines, and reports. Ability to effectively present information verbally in one-on-one to large group situations.

Reasoning Ability:

Must be able to creatively apply experience and common sense to a variety of situations, processes, and people. Must be able to make technical decisions and support the staff on technical issues. Possess the ability to manage several projects concurrently. Be able to plan work, order parts, and coordinate downtime to complete work orders. Be able to resolve issues which may include conflicts between employees, equipment malfunctions, and variations in operating conditions.

Computer Skills:

Must demonstrate strong skills in Microsoft Office suite and be able to effectively use Maintenance Management Software.

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for providing a full range of personnel and training services to SkillSource business and career seeker customers, with a concentrated focus on the business customer. A. Purpose and Scope of Position

B. Organizational Relationship

Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain an understanding of the requirements of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Code of Federal Regulations Title 21 Parts 820 and 1271, American Association of Tissue Banks (AATB), International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 13485, European Medical Device Directives (MDD), Canadian Medical Device Regulations, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and other regulatory standards as applicable
• Adhere to all Xtant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols while operating in compliance with regulatory standards
• Develop and maintain an understanding of Xtant products and general biological and chemical systems utilized within the Processing Department. Know how the activities performed in the Processing Department are controlled by and interact with the Quality System and how they affect the production of medical devices and tissues as applicable
• Support the Xtant mission to design, manufacture, and distribute innovative, safe, reliable, and cost-effective solutions for the medical needs of patients
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment at all times and follow requirements to properly dispose of hazardous and non-hazardous waste according to OSHA regulations and Xtant SOPs
• Responsible for decontamination, disinfection, cleaning, and sterilization (where appropriate) of all non-disposable processing instruments and equipment
• Manually wash processing instruments and equipment according to Xtant SOPs
• Ensure all reusable tissue processing equipment and instruments are suitable for use, including inspection and assembly if applicable
• Prepare relevant donor processing documentation, labels, and other consumable supplies for sterilization
• Aseptically introduce equipment and supplies into the cleanroom environment
• Safely operate, monitor, and maintain cleaning and sterilization equipment in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and equipment-specific SOPs when applicable
• Safely prepare and handle cleaning reagents and solutions according to MSDS/SDS and SOPs and follow OSHA bloodborne pathogen standards, Universal Precautions, and current Good Tissue Practices (cGTP) when handling biological material
• Provide facility cleaning support to areas outside of the cleanroom environment
• Collect and prepare soiled cleanroom garments for shipment to vendor
• Collect and prepare solid biohazardous waste for shipment in accordance with OSHA standards and Xtant SOPs
• Know the appropriate storage conditions, locations, and tissue handling methods for unprocessed and processed donor tissue
• Must maintain confidentiality of donor and recipient information
• Provide assistance and support to other teams, departments, team leads, and supervisors as requested
Financial Responsibilities
• Submit timely expense reports and abide by the Expense Reimbursement Policy
Training
• Participate in training plans and programs and complete in a timely manner within set deadlines
• Complete required training prior to attempting to perform a task
• Maintain accurate and detailed training documentation. Ensure training is up to date
• Complete Document Read Training (DRT) in a timely manner whenever a document within the Quality System undergoes revision
Document Control and Record Control
• Assist in the completion and retention of production-related and processing-related documents and records
• Assist in the completion and retention of documentation pertaining to all SOPs as required
• Legibly and accurately complete all documentation associated with assigned duties in accordance with current GDP and review the information of others as required
• Participate in the completion of Donor Processing Records as applicable
• Participate in changes to documents and to products and processes
• Maintain information in physical and electronic files as required
• Complete document corrections in a timely manner and maintain error rates at or below departmental benchmark

o Collect waste water samples from various locations
o Analyze samples using various lab equipment while following McCain testing procedures

o Make process adjustments after consultation with the Waste Water Treatment Lead and/or Environmental Control Supervisor

o Monitoring final effluent quality and distribution to irrigation holding pond
• Complies with all state regulations that pertain to:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Operate and maintain all ammonia refrigeration and steam plant equipment: which includes operation of Ammonia refrigeration compressors, condensers, pumps, water tube boiler, compressed air and ancillary equipment.

SUMMARY
The Instrument Calibration Specialist Position is part of the Maintenance Team, under the E&I group. There will be collaboration with the Electricians, solving instrument reliability shortcomings, and other instrument controls/electronic systems. The Instrument Calibration Specialist’s main function will be ensuring the proper calibration of instruments, such as transmitters (flow, pressure, and level), switches (level, pressure, flow, and position), load cells and control valves. This position will also be responsible for verification that instruments are used for the proper application. This also includes the proper installation of electronic components/instruments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Use tools, test equipment, documentation, and schematics to operate, repair, adjust, install and rebuild electronic and instrumentation, which supports factory operations.
